Not every image I make is on the Sunshine Coast. This one was made in rural France, in the middle of summer, when the sunflower fields of Provence turn to face the afternoon sun and the whole landscape goes gold.

Dream State is a fine art landscape print of a sunflower field in rural France, captured in warm afternoon light. It’s a completely different subject to my usual coastal Queensland work, but the same principle applies: be in the right place at the right time, and let the light do the work. The colour in this image – the deep yellows of the flowers, the warm sky above, the soft haze on the horizon – is exactly what was in front of me. No colour grading. No manipulation.
