Image Flat is a small locality in the Sunshine Coast hinterland named, as the story goes, after the flat, mirror-like pools that form at the base of its waterfalls. I can believe it. The pools I found when I photographed here were extraordinarily still – the kind of stillness that only exists deep in a rainforest gully, well away from the wind.

The colour palette is the colour of the Sunshine Coast hinterland in summer – deep greens, wet rock, filtered light.
