The rocks at Coolum Beach run out from the base of Mount Coolum to the north, and at low tide they form a complex platform of pools and channels that catch the sky. At sunrise, when the rock platform is still wet and the sky is turning orange, the reflections in the rock pools produce a scene where the colour above and the colour below are almost indistinguishable.
