Velvia was a slide film made by Fujifilm that photographers used for decades because of the way it rendered colour – particularly in landscape photography. The saturation was beyond what the naked eye actually sees, but not so far beyond that it felt false. It felt like the landscape at its most vivid, most present version of itself.

Velvia Sky is named for that quality. This is the Glass House Mountains, Sunshine Coast, under a sky that has that same Velvia character – deeply saturated blues and purples, the volcanic peaks silhouetted against it, the whole scene with a colour intensity that makes the landscape feel more alive than ordinary light allows.
