The Goblin is a classic wooden boat moored on the Maroochy River, Sunshine Coast. I photographed it at golden hour when the warm light was catching the timber hull and the river’s surface was doing interesting things with the reflections (my favourite Maroochy river photo).

It’s a quieter image than most of my landscape work – less about the drama of the natural environment and more about the character of a particular boat in a particular light at a particular moment. Boats like The Goblin are increasingly rare. There’s something worth documenting in that.
