Surfers call it corduroy – when a swell is so clean and so consistent that the lines stack up to the horizon like the ridges on a piece of fabric. You don’t see it often, but when a cyclone brings swell around the point, it’s a an absolute must to point a camera at it.

Corduroy Lines is a panoramic fine art print of Rainbow Beach and Double Island Point, captured from an elevated position that shows the full sweep of the Queensland coastline and the perfect lines of swell wrapping around the point. The wide 3:1 format was the obvious choice here – the scene demanded a frame as wide as the view itself.
