Buderim Forest Park is a pocket of subtropical rainforest in the middle of the Sunshine Coast – surrounded by suburbs, but inside the park boundary it feels like a different world. The creek that runs through it is fed by the rainfall that Buderim catches from its elevated ridge position, and in wet weather it runs fast and full. Shelter was made in that wet-weather window: the canopy closing over the creek, the ferns lit from above, the water running through the frame.
