Galahs are one of those Australian birds that photograph better than they should – the pink and grey, the gregarious behaviour, the way they move in flocks through the eucalyptus. In the western Sunshine Coast hinterland, where the country opens up from subtropical rainforest into drier, more open farmland, galah flocks are a common sight in the tree lines. This image was made in the late afternoon when the flock was settled in the branches and the light was coming in at an angle that lit the pink of the birds against the grey of the eucalyptus bark.

Galah’s is a 3:1 panoramic fine art print of a flock of galahs in the eucalyptus trees of the Sunshine Coast hinterland, Queensland, photographed in the warm light of late afternoon. The wide 3:1 format captures multiple birds across the full width of the tree, the composition treating the flock as a whole rather than isolating individual birds.

Available as a fine art photographic print, stretched canvas, or glass print. Free shipping Australia-wide.
